Grow your focus

12/05/20 18:00

Grow your Focus intended to contribute to the growth of the Focus in all participants throughout the cycle of 3 interactive sessions: Breathe, Care and Eat. The sessions were structured to promote the pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the UN, namely: "SDG 3. Good health and well-being"; "SDG 4. Quality Education" and "SDG 12. Responsable consumption and production". Breathe, relaxing and energizing, highlighted the practice of conscious breathing and the positioning of our thinking in the present, to the detriment of the oscillation between the past and the future, as strategies to avoid dispersion of focus. Care, pragmatic and structuring, brought practical advice to manage daily habits and assume self-compassion as a potentiator of focus. Finally, Eat: an optimistic sharing of how to eat healthily, sustainably and with less waste, and how to enjoy the experience of cooking can also contribute to physical and mental well-being. The UC is an active and vibrant community, with the participation of about 300 students, researchers, teachers and non-teaching workers from 7 organic units and 10 UC Research Centers. The 9 speakers of Grow your Focus, also connected to the UC, made this initiative a dynamic of intense sharing and learning. The initiative was registered, throughout the 3 sessions, with the sketchnoting technique which, in a simple and stimulating way, captured the focus of all participants for the main ideas of each session. The initiative had the institutional support of the Universidade de Coimbra (UC) and the Associação Académica de Coimbra (AAC), as well as the sponsorship of Santander Universidades.
